The American Academy of Pain Management   A great site for patients and practitioners.  This is the largest pain organization in the United States.  The Academy provides credentialing, accreditation of facilities, networking opportunities, continuing education, quality publications and an annual clinical meeting.  William Skelton serves on the advisory board, is a faculty member and previously served on the examination committee.

The Tri-State College of Acupuncture offers the most impressive education in acupuncture in the nation.  It has built a curriculum around a  modern, expanded definition of acupuncture as a body-mind energetic.  Its integrative approach unites physical, behavioral and psychosomatic perspectives on human health and dysfunction. The Center for Acupuncture Educational Research The Center was established in New York to facilitate ongoing dialogue among master practitioners, researchers and educators of acupuncture in North America, raising crucial issues related to all aspects of acupuncture practice that may serve to inspire future research, impact acupuncture educational methodologies, and, most importantly, improve patient care.  William Skelton is a founding director and serves on the board of directors.

National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine - The organization develops and administers national board certification examinations in acupuncture and Chinese herbology. William Skelton served as a commissioner and executive board member of this organization for nine years.

The Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine The Council has developed academic and clinical guidelines and core curriculum requirements for programs in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. More than thirty-five colleges are members of the Council.
